Hepworth Junior & Infant School is a small village school set in wonderful rural grounds in the Holme Valley. We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, conscientious, highly motivated and capable Cleaner / Caretaker to play a key role in the maintenance and development of our school. We would love to appoint someone who wants to become part of a friendly, hard‑working and committed team. We would welcome someone with experience or someone with enthusiasm and the capability to look after our school.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake cleaning duties and oversee cleaning staff
  • Lock and unlock the school
  • Support the maintenance of property and grounds including liaising with school staff and external contractors
  • Be a key holder and attend call offs if necessary
  • Monitor site stock and order supplies
  • Experience of DIY and ability to carry out minor repairs and general maintenance
  • willingness to attend training courses
  • Moving and carrying furniture and other equipment
  • Looking after our outdoors area

Hours and Start Date

The hours are negotiable with flexibility for the right person. School will need unlocking for around 7am in the morning and locking for 6pm. We are looking for a start date of 1st August 2026 but this can be discussed at interview.
