The Headteacher and Governing Body are seeking to appoint a dynamic, organised and enthusiastic HLTA to work with a fantastic staff team within this caring and welcoming school community. Skelmanthorpe Academy is a warm and welcoming village school that is committed to ensuring that the children are at the heart of everything we do. It became an academy in March 2017 and is part of the Learning Accord Multi‑Academy Trust. Following OFSTED 2025 the school sustained a Good rating. The role will cover for PPA and management time. The position is temporary until March 2027 and is for 15 hours a week, starting Monday 1 September 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Cover for PPA and management time within primary schools, delivering teaching and management support as required.

Qualifications

  • Understands the importance of learning to learn and believes that all children can achieve.
  • Committed to ensuring good or better outcomes and opportunities for pupils.
  • Able to plan and deliver lessons in EYFS, KS1/2 in consultation with the class teacher as PPA/Management cover.
  • Works well in a team with excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Committed to undertaking CPD as needed for the role.
