We have an exciting opportunity to welcome someone into our central team as Governance and Compliance Officer.

Role and Responsibilities

The Governance and Compliance Officer will have a comprehensive understanding of school governance and possess strong administrative and interpersonal skills. The postholder will:

  • undertake clerking for Local Academy Board meetings as well as providing high quality governance administrative support, training, and advice;
  • be a member of the Central Team and ensure efficient and effective support to academies within the Trust;
  • act as an ambassador for the Trust, liaising regularly with internal and external stakeholders, requiring discretion and diplomacy;
  • possess effective organisational and management skills to provide pro-active support to additional projects as required;
  • be able to attend evening Local Academy Board meetings held in Wakefield, Kirklees and Barnsley when required.

Requirements and expectations

The post holder will have:

  • a comprehensive understanding of school governance;
  • strong administrative and interpersonal skills; and
  • the ability to provide high level governance support and advice.
