The two Facilities Management Officer posts will be based within the Schools Public Private Partnerships (PPP) Contracts Team which is expanding in preparation for the expiry of the PPP contracts. Your contracts and facilities experience will be critical in ensuring that our schools are in the best condition possible at the point of hand back post contract expiry.
Contract expiry will involve a range of commercial, financial, technical and legal processes to manage and negotiate, alongside robust stakeholder management to ensure our schools and trusts are informed and involved throughout the process.
Your attention to detail will support you to ensure that contracts are effectively monitored and that any variations are properly administered, recorded and authorised following detailed specifications. Your technical contracts and facilities management knowledge and understanding of the education environment will mean you see opportunities for potential savings in delivery and procurement of contracts.
In this job you will be instrumental in engaging with key stakeholders and end users to ensure a coordinated, proactive approach to contract management across all areas of the Council’s school estate. You will represent the Council, ensuring that delivery, monitoring, and administration of contracts is both effective and compliant, ensuring value for money for the Council and end users.
As a Facilities Management Officer, you will have a professional and tactful attitude to often conflicting demands of stakeholders and sensitive consideration of their issues will mean you are able to negotiate effectively with operational, contractual and efficiency considerations in mind.
You will ensure budgetary targets are met through adoption of effective budget monitoring, management, and payment systems.
The Facilities Management Officers will also support the wider Schools Asset Management Team on overarching school estate issues, subject to the needs of the service.
