Responsibilities
- Ensuring that the workshop is a safe place to work
- Ensuring that the workshop is always in pristine condition
- Ensuring that equipment is fit for purpose and is regularly maintained
- Ensuring that stock levels are accurate and kept up to date
- Ensuring that materials are ordered in a timely manner
- Preparing the workshop ready for practical sessions to be delivered safely and effectively
- Monitoring students in the workshop to ensure that work is being carried out safely
- Providing support for Lecturers by facilitating workshop sessions
- Preparing the workshop for apprenticeship ‘end-point assessments’
- Where required, deliver workshop or classroom sessions with support from lecturers
- Carry out procurement of materials and consumables
- Oversee booking of hotel and residential accommodation
- Invoice and oversee invoicing of accommodation to stakeholders
Qualifications
Ideally, you’ll have an appropriate qualification within the fabrication industry (or be able to prove equivalent ability) and demonstrable experience in the further education sector. It’s important that you’re able to communicate effectively, engage with young people and prioritise workloads whilst demonstrating our College values of Kindness, Unity and Excellence in your role.
