Windmill C of E Primary School is looking to appoint an enthusiastic, creative and dedicated EYFS Phase Leader to join our motivated, friendly and professional team. We are an exciting, diverse, inclusive and friendly school with a community of wonderful professionals working together to achieve the very best outcomes and experiences for our pupils, a fantastic opportunity for the successful candidate. We are seeking to appoint an inspiring and creative leader to lead our Reception team and have an excellent understanding of child development and a strong commitment to a team‑working approach to school improvement.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Reception team
- Develop, evaluate and implement a high‑quality EYFS curriculum
- Create rich, engaging, enabling and purposeful learning environments indoors and outdoors
- Lead, coach and inspire a dedicated team with positivity and clarity
- Work in partnership with families and the wider school community
- Support school improvement and strategic planning as part of the leadership team
- Maintain a focus on language development and positive interactions
Qualifications
- Passionate about Early Years education and understands high‑quality early experiences build foundations for lifelong learning
- Experienced in leading practice within EYFS or ready to step into leadership with proven impact
- Able to evaluate, develop and implement a high‑quality EYFS curriculum
- Skilled in creating rich, engaging, enabling and purposeful learning environments (indoors and outdoors)
- Understands the importance of language development and can demonstrate it through high‑quality interactions
- A reflective practitioner who constantly strives to develop practice
- Committed to working in partnership with families and the wider school community
- Driven by inclusion, high expectations, and belief that every child can thrive
- Able to develop an environment in which all children develop resilience, independence, and good learning behaviours
Ideal Candidate
- Have extensive experience working within the EYFS in a Primary School setting
- Have a deep understanding of the EYFS curriculum and framework and be able to lead its development across the provision
- Be confident, flexible, resilient and solution‑focused
- Build positive relationships with staff, external colleagues, pupils and families
- Commit to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- Contribute to strategic planning and operational delivery as part of a leadership team
