Working Hours: 34.15 hours per week – Monday – Friday 8am-3.20pm, term-time plus 2 inset days (27.5 hours ETA; 4.15 hours Breakfast Club Assistant; 2.5 hours Lunchtime Supervision) Commencing September 2026 – or sooner for the right candidate.

We are looking for an experienced, reliable, enthusiastic and confident individual to join our dedicated team. They will start the day supporting in Breakfast Club, before stepping effortlessly into the role of experienced ETA in KS1/KS2, whilst also being able to provide engaging support & supervision of pupils during the lunch break. Please note, all HBJIN staff play a role in providing whole school support across breakfast club, learning time and break/lunchtime supervision.
Responsibilities- Work under the direction of the Breakfast Club Officer to provide an inclusive, sustainable and successful breakfast club for all pupils.
- Work under the direction of the class teacher in our mixed-age classes.
- Support children with SEND and across the class, supporting and challenging so that children make progress.
- Adapt support offered according to individual needs, with compassion and empathy.
- Provide effective additional support by leading on group work and one-to-one support where required.
- Supervise and engage children during break/lunchtime in the playground or indoors due to inclement weather and/or in the dining hall as required.
- Be proactive in their approach and use their initiative.
- Ensure a positive, safe, learning environment is maintained in line with school policies.
- Manage pupil behaviour in line with school expectations.
- Have experience working with children in a primary school setting.
- Have experience working with children with SEND.
- Effectively lead group work and prepare resources and materials for teaching.
- Be confident, flexible, resilient and solution-focused.
- Build positive relationships with staff, external colleagues, pupils and families.
- Commit to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
