Job Purpose
As a Grade 9 HLTA, you will bring your professional expertise and discipline to make a highly effective contribution to our school’s teaching and learning strategies across KS2. Working under the guidance of our Senior Leadership Team and alongside class teachers, you will complement professional teaching work by taking responsibility for agreed learning activities within high professional standards. A key benefit of this role is that you will be provided with dedicated planning time during your working hours to ensure you are fully prepared to deliver high-quality support.
Key Responsibilities
- Teaching & Learning Provision: Plan, prepare, and deliver purposeful learning activities to individuals, small groups, or whole classes across KS2, including cover when the assigned teacher is not present.
- Curriculum Delivery: Assist and collaborate with teachers in short-term planning, reinforcing lesson aims, and delivering specific curriculum areas.
- Pupil Progress & Assessment: Support the monitoring and evaluation of pupils' achievements, accurately recording progress in relevant systems to ensure individual needs are met.
- Behaviour & Inclusion: Apply positive strategies to manage classroom behaviour effectively, promote student inclusion, and maintain a safe, purposeful, and high-expectation learning environment.
- Staff Leadership & Supervision: Guide, motivate, and coordinate a team of teaching assistants or helpers, assisting with their induction and performance management to ensure learning objectives are securely embedded.
- Professional Collaboration: Develop positive professional relationships with colleagues, parents, and multi-agency professionals to facilitate informed decision-making on interventions.
