About The Role
The role of caretaker is a key position, ensuring the smooth running of the school. You will be responsible for the maintenance of health and safety, cleanliness and security. The successful candidate will work closely with the headteacher, governors, the school business manager and colleagues in the local authority.
Caretaking Duties Will Include
- Lock/unlock and carry out security checks on the school buildings and site;
- Carry out and record statutory checks and help maintain Health & Safety records;
- Maintain the school property and grounds to a high standard, including leading a small team of cleaning staff and undertaking some cleaning duties;
- Monitor site stock, order supplies and handle/move deliveries;
- Carry out DIY and general site work.
The successful candidate will have practical experience in building and maintenance and will have a good understanding of health & safety. They will also be required to act as a key holder. Working hours are: Monday – Friday 6:30am – 9:30am and 3pm-6pm. All holidays must be taken during school holidays.
