About the Service
Kirklees Council’s Creative Development & Events Team leads on a range of cultural, creative, tourism and place-making initiatives that contribute to the district’s economic growth, visitor economy and quality of life. Working with local communities, creative practitioners, cultural organisations, businesses and regional partners, the team develops and delivers programmes that celebrate Kirklees as a vibrant place to live, work and visit. The service plays a key role in delivering the district’s cultural, tourism and heritage ambitions, supporting creative industries, attracting investment and creating opportunities for residents and visitors alike.
About the Role
Are you passionate about the power of culture to transform places and communities? As Creative Project Officer, you'll play a key role in assisting some of Kirklees' most exciting cultural programmes, supporting artists, creative businesses, community organisations and working with regional partners to develop projects that inspire residents, attract visitors and support economic growth. If you're an organised, proactive and a creative thinker who thrives on collaboration and turning ideas into action, we'd love to hear from you.
Working within a collaborative and ambitious team, you will support the planning and delivery of creative projects, events and partnerships, helping to strengthen Kirklees’ cultural offer and support the growth of the creative industries. The role involves project coordination, stakeholder engagement, communications, digital promotion, research, reporting, and supporting business cases and funding opportunities.
Key Skills & Experience
We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:
- Experience coordinating and delivering creative, cultural, tourism or community-based projects.
- Strong project management skills, including managing timelines, budgets and multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with partners, stakeholders and communities.
- Knowledge of the creative and cultural sectors and a passion for arts, culture and place-making.
- Experience of planning, promoting and delivering public-facing events, engagement activities or training programmes
- The ability to research, analyse and present information to support reports, business cases and funding bids.
- Confidence using digital platforms, websites and social media to promote projects and initiatives.
- A proactive, creative and solutions-focused approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
