The Early Intervention and Safeguarding Team is a newly integrated team that works on Early Intervention and Prevention in line with the Care Act 2014. The team work hard to support people with Care Act Eligible needs and Section 42 duties of the Care Act, which details the safeguarding responsibilities. We are committed to a person‑centred approach, adapting our service to meet the evolving needs of those referred to us. We work closely with individuals and their families to ensure accessible care that promotes dignity, independence, and wellbeing.

You will play a key role in delivering statutory social work support. You will manage a caseload of clients, conduct Early Intervention support, Mental Capacity assessments, Care Act assessments and support planning. You will also provide support in crisis intervention and signposting on to other services.

There will be a strong focus upon your own personal professional development to enhance your skills and practice. Our aim is to develop confident and competent practitioners who work to the Kirklees Behaviours, supporting better outcomes for people we work with while equipping you with real and transferable skills for the future. A full induction will be provided during which the successful candidates will receive support from a very committed, friendly, flexible, and welcoming team.

Travel is an essential part of this job and therefore it would be extremely difficult for you to do your job effectively if you did not use a car for all or most of the time. It is essential that you hold a full and valid driving licence, and it is expected that you will either use a council vehicle or your own car. (Exceptions may be made for disabled applicants). Flexible working arrangements can be considered in line with the needs of service.
