Job Overview: Cleaner (Zero Hours) – Fusion Housing, Kirklees Council

Location: Huddersfield (Pearl House, 10 John William Street, Huddersfield, HD1 1BA) covering Kirklees/Wakefield/Calderdale

Contract: Zero Hours Contract (Permanent)

Salary: £23,493 per annum (£12.21 an hour)

Responsibilities:

  • Undertake cleaning activities, including deep cleaning and end‑of‑tenancy cleaning.
  • Carry out tasks as agreed with the Property Management Team: sweeping, vacuuming, steam cleaning, washing, dusting, polishing surfaces (floors, walls, etc.), scrubbing, moving heavy/non‑heavy items, and disposing of waste at the recycling centre.
  • Maintain accurate records of all work carried out.
  • Participate in developing the service to meet identified needs.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Strong work ethic.
  • Experience handling hazardous substances and needles/sharps, and willingness to deepen knowledge.
  • Ability to treat all clients and their homes with dignity and respect.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of client and service information.
  • Must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to own transport.
