Denby CE First School is part of the Green Hills First Federation with Farnley Tyas and Thurstonland First Schools. The Governors of the Federation are looking to appoint a reliable, proactive and practical Caretaker/Cleaner to help maintain a safe, secure, clean and well-managed environment at Denby CE First School.
Working closely with staff members, you will be responsible for:
- Opening and locking the site
- Daily cleaning
- Minor repairs and maintenance
- Carrying out health and safety and compliance checks
- Keeping accurate records to ensure the school buildings and grounds operate efficiently for pupils, staff and visitors
The role requires:
- Minor DIY skills
- An understanding of health and safety and COSHH
- The ability to work independently and prioritise tasks
- A flexible, positive approach
Previous caretaking or premises experience is not necessarily essential, and training will be provided.
You Will Need To:
- Have some practical experience that will enable you to fix and mend as required
- Be able to carry out a range of physical tasks that will include lifting and carrying and working at heights
- Be enthusiastic and helpful towards staff and children
- Be open to training that will enable you to fulfil the role which may require additional hours to be worked
- Understand H.A.S.A.W and C.O.S.H.H (training can be provided)
