Overview
The Summit Federation is seeking to appoint a reliable and proactive Caretaker and Minibus Driver. You would provide support across all aspects of school life, including facilities management, maintenance, security and the promotion of health and safety in the working environment.
The Ideal Candidate Will
- Be responsible for opening and locking up the school sites and carrying out security checks on the buildings.
- Be aware of Health and Safety requirements and able to identify any Health and Safety risks and deal with them as necessary.
- Carry out and record statutory checks and help to maintain Health and Safety records.
- Be responsible for maintaining and improving the school environment, both externally and internally to a high standard.
- Have a range of practical skills to carry out minor repairs and maintenance tasks, as well as an eye for detail when overseeing and monitoring the work of external contractors on site.
- Be able to organise and prioritise work effectively and source and order consumables as needed.
- Be able to work on their own initiative and be pro-active.
- Have the ability to positively interact with colleagues, parents and the community and be willing to contribute to the caring ethos that exists within the schools.
- Receive appropriate training and drive the minibus daily.
- Be open to training to ensure the role can be carried out to the best ability.
Responsibilities and Timings
- Timings can be negotiated but envisage a pattern similar to:
- 6:30am to 8:30am (Monday – Friday)
- 3:30pm to 5:30pm (Monday – Friday)
Emergencies can arise outside normal working hours, so flexibility is crucial.
