Business Support Officer – Document Control Team (Grade 5)At Kirklees Council we work in innovative and practical ways to deliver high‐quality services to our communities. We are looking for a motivated and detail‐focused Business Support Officer to join our Document Control Team within Welfare & Exchequer.

This is a key role supporting the effective running of essential council services. You will be part of a professional and supportive team responsible for processing large volumes of sensitive documentation accurately and efficiently, ensuring information is available to support timely decision‐making.

Key Responsibilities

Process incoming post and electronic documents, including scanning, indexing and record management

Maintain accurate and secure records using council IT systems

Provide high‐quality administrative and business support to service teams

Work to targets, standards and deadlines in a high‐volume environment

Handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately

Work proactively as part of a team to support service objectives

Have strong administrative and IT skills, with good attention to detail

Be well organised and able to work accurately at pace

Enjoy working as part of a team in a busy office environment

Have a positive, flexible and supportive approach to work

Be committed to excellent customer service and continuous improvement

Experience in a document management, administrative or business support role is desirable, but not essential, as full training will be provided.
