Position Overview
Assistant Headteacher – responsible for KS2 and SEND at Brackenhill Primary School, Dracup Road, Bradford.
Hours: 0.5 teaching commitment and 0.5 leadership time.
Start: After the October half term or sooner if possible.
Position type: Permanent.
Grade: L7 – 11.
Responsibilities
- Work in close partnership with the Headteacher, Deputy Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team.
- Support and lead the KS2 and SEND programmes, ensuring high quality teaching and inclusive practice.
- Drive school improvement and raise attainment.
- Communicate effectively with pupils, parents and staff, fostering positive behaviour and a supportive learning environment.

- Outstanding teacher, committed, highly motivated and solution focused.
- Committed to professional growth, holding or willing to achieve the NPQ for SENDCO/NASENCO award and relevant leadership qualifications.
- Sound insight into highly inclusive practice and an understanding of trauma‑informed approaches.
- High expectations for pupils and staff, with a focus on achieving and exceeding attainment.
- Excellent people and leadership skills, approachable and able to get the best out of others.
- Experience in driving school improvement and raising attainment.
