The Kirklees Local Plan sets ambitious housing and employment targets. You will work in our Development Management team, joining our proactive, dynamic and friendly team. The work is varied, working with a wide range of services and partners to deliver the Council’s ambitions for Kirklees, including supporting our exciting regeneration plans for Huddersfield and Dewsbury.
Responsibilities:
- Ideally, you will already have a degree in planning or related subject or experience in the field as well as some experience of dealing with a caseload of planning applications and planning processes.
- Responsible for the processing of planning, advertisement consents, listed building applications and other planning matters.
- Undertake site inspections and consultations within agreed targets, timescales and priorities.
- Respond to enquiries from applicants, agents and developers, advising on planning and related permissions and the procedures.
- Discuss, consult and negotiate on proposals; prepare reports and formulate recommendations on planning applications.
- Required to travel independently across the district to satisfy the duties of the post and a current driving licence is desirable.
