Salary FTE £26,267 – £26,567 pro rata for hours and weeks

Location: Multiple locations across the Kirklees College campuses

Hours & Weeks: 18 / 24 / 30 hours per week, 38 weeks per year

Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional support for SEND students across all curriculum areas and college sites.
  • Develop supportive relationships with students while remaining professional.
  • Deliver strategies to promote and reinforce student self‑esteem.
  • Provide physical and personal care support as required.
  • Work under the direction of the class tutor and exercise your own initiative.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum Level 2 qualification in literacy and numeracy (e.g. GCSE English and Maths at grade A‑C).
  • Minimum Level 2 qualification relevant to the post.
  • Previous experience of working with young people in an educational capacity.
  • Knowledge of EHCPs and SEND, with experience of supporting students with diverse learning needs.
  • Excellent communication and digital skills.
  • Ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
