Location: Huddersfield Centre

Salary: £21,595 pro rate (£25,150 FTE)

Hours and Weeks per Year: 37 Hours a week/ 38 Weeks per year

Overview: At Kirklees College we are looking for a SEND Care Support officer to join our growing and progressing team. The successful applicant will provide high quality personal care and administer medications across the college, working with the SENDCO to ensure appropriate processes are fully embedded and documentation is completed correctly. You will need to be confident to talk to external agencies: schools, outside health, physios etc to gather essential information.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide high quality personal care and administer medication to young people with SEND across the college.
  • Work closely with the SENDCO to embed and document safeguarding and welfare processes.
  • Liaise with external agencies – schools, outside health services, physios – to gather essential information and support the individual’s development plan.

Qualifications:

  • A level 3 qualification in a related area or equivalent ability and demonstrable experience in providing personal care and administering medication.
  • The ability to work within a team, communicate effectively, and enjoy working with young people with SEND needs.
