About the Role

In the role of Payroll Officer, you will predominantly be based at the Huddersfield Centre and your focus will be on providing administrative support to the College Payroll function.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing administrative support and guidance for the College's Payroll function.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely processing of payments to staff and external agencies, and maintaining accurate payroll records.
  • Collating and verifying payroll data.
  • Handling pay and expense claims.
  • Preparing payslips and ensuring compliance with organisational and statutory requirements.
  • Collaborating with colleagues across the business.
  • Proactively identifying service improvements.
  • Supporting in annual audits.

Qualifications:

  • Level 2 in Maths and English.
  • Level 4 in Accountancy, Payroll or equivalent (or ability to prove equivalent ability).
  • Demonstrable experience in HR and/or Payroll in a large organisation.
  • Ability to work autonomously, engage and communicate effectively with a wide range of people, exercise discretion and confidentiality.
  • Demonstrate College values of Kindness, Unity and Excellence.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
