Our fantastic client, a Financial Services company based in Castle Donington, are looking for a Semi-Senior Accountant to join their friendly team. You will carry out a range of accounting tasks for a range of clients. Permanent role. £26,000 - £29,000 depending on experience. Monday to Friday.
Semi-Senior Accountant - The Role:- Preparation of statutory accounts including bank reconciliation, control account reconciliation, fixed asset accounting, calculation of debtors and creditors, nominal ledger accounting and preparation of trial balance, etc.
- Submitting Year End accounts using accounts production software.
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns.
- Maintaining accounts for clients to the required standard.
- Personal tax returns.
- Corporation tax computations.
- Assisting the team in carrying out internal audit work.
- Dealing with client queries and liaising with HMRC on behalf of clients.
- Assisting in the preparation of management accounts and financial forecasts.
- General book-keeping on behalf of multiple clients using relevant accounting systems (including Sage, QuickBooks, Xero, Digita and IRIS).
- Visit client premises to set up and maintain book-keeping records and quarterly VAT returns.
- Have a strong understanding of accounts preparation and be either qualified, part qualified or qualified by experience.
- Experience with cloud software such as SAGE, Xero, QuickBooks and Free Agent.
- Being proficient in Digita would be beneficial.
- Multi-tasking abilities.
- Ability to prioritise.
- Ability to develop and maintain client relations. Ensure a high level of service to meet client expectations.
- Building up good working relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Working as part of a team as well as independently.
- Good commercial awareness.
- Tax planning and structures are an advantage.
