I am working with a growing and well‑established transport and logistics organisation who are seeking an experienced Fleet Manager to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a fleet professional to take ownership of fleet performance, maintenance strategy, supplier management, and operational cost control across a multi‑site operation. The role offers significant autonomy and the opportunity to influence fleet planning, supplier performance, and long‑term operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of fleet maintenance and compliance, ensuring vehicles and trailers are maintained to the highest operational and safety standards while remaining fully compliant with Operator's Licence requirements and DVSA regulations.
- Oversee servicing schedules, inspections, MOT preparation, defect management, breakdown response, and vehicle downtime, ensuring the fleet remains efficient and operational at all times.
- Drive commercial performance across the fleet function, including negotiating and managing supplier agreements for maintenance, tyres, parts, and breakdown services, alongside implementing effective purchasing and stock control processes to improve visibility and reduce costs.
- Possess strong technical knowledge of HGVs, trailers, and associated parts, with the confidence to challenge supplier pricing and recommendations where necessary.
- Oversee accurate asset allocation across multiple depots to support operational efficiency and financial reporting, while ensuring all maintenance records and compliance documentation are maintained to a high standard and remain audit‑ready.
