Our client is a well-established engineering and manufacturing business currently going through an exciting period of sustained growth. Due to increased project demand and continued investment across the business, they are now looking to recruit an experienced Mechanical CAD Designer to join their expanding engineering team. The Role
As a Mechanical CAD Designer, you will be responsible for producing accurate engineering drawings and 3D models for a range of mechanical products and systems. Working closely with design, production, and project teams, you will play a key role in supporting projects from concept through to manufacture.
Key Responsibilities
- Create detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings using industry‑standard software
- Develop mechanical designs for bespoke engineering solutions
- Produce manufacturing drawings, assembly drawings, and BOMs
- Liaise with production teams to ensure design feasibility and manufacturability
- Support design modifications and continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure all drawings and documentation are maintained accurately
- Work collaboratively with engineers, project managers, and clients where required
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience in a Mechanical CAD Designer or Design Engineer position
- Proficient with CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor, or similar
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and manufacturing processes
- Ability to interpret technical specifications and engineering drawings
- Excellent attention to detail and problem‑solving skills
- HNC/HND or Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline preferred
