Position Overview
We are experiencing a period of significant growth and need a skilled and detail‑oriented AutoCAD Technician to join our multidisciplinary engineering design and construction team. This role offers a permanent position with a considerable portfolio of work for the next 5 + years. You will contribute to critical infrastructure projects across the UK, supporting the design and delivery of high‑voltage electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and update detailed engineering drawings, layouts, and schematics
- Generate as‑built drawings after project completion
- Convert hand sketches or scanned images into digital CAD drawings
- Coordinate with other disciplines to resolve clashes or interferences
- Maintain drawing revision history and ensure version control
- Assist in the preparation of tender drawings, shop drawings and final documentation
- Comply with internal CAD quality standards and drawing templates
- Attend design review meetings and incorporate feedback promptly
Qualifications
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D essential; 3D desirable)
- Strong understanding of electrical schematics, layout drawings and civil interfaces
- Familiarity with UK DNO/IDNO standards and specifications
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Desirable
- Experience with BIM/Revit or other 3D modelling software
- Knowledge of CDM regulations and utility mapping
- HNC/HND or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
