Overview
Due to further growth, we are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Tutor of English Language up to GCSE to support students in achieving their academic goals. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for teaching, strong communication skills, and experience working with children. This position offers an opportunity to make a positive impact on learners\β lives by providing personalised teaching tailored to individual needs. You will work closely with students and other staff in this friendly and well regarded tutoring centre in Manvers, Wath on Dearne. Initially we are looking for someone to work with our year 11 students until the exams end next June. Hours are by negotiation, but preferably Wednesdays after school pm and Thursday pm, or similar.
Successful candidate must have an enhanced DBS certificate and be wiling to undergo ( 2hrs paid) child safeguarding training, if not already. Good remuneration and lovely working conditions.
Responsibilities
- Deliver customised tutoring sessions in English up to GCSE level.
- Assess students\β learning needs and develop tailored lesson plans to address individual challenges and goals.
- Support students in developing effective study skills and boosting confidence in their abilities.
- Track progress and provide brief constructive feedback to students and parents or guardians.
- Adapt teaching methods to suit different learning styles and abilities, ensuring an inclusive approach.
- Maintain a positive, encouraging atmosphere that motivates learners to achieve their full potential. and contributes to the professional and friendly working environment.
Skills
- Proven experience as a fully qualified UK teacher of Secondary English.
- Strong understanding of educational principles and effective teaching strategies.
- Experience working with students requiring special education support is desirable.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain concepts clearly and patiently.
- Organisational skills to plan lessons effectively and manage multiple students\β needs simultaneously.
Job Types: Part-time, Temporary
Contract length: 6 months
Pay: Β£30.00-Β£46.00 per hour
Expected hours: 3 β 10 per week
