We are working with a specialist wastewater treatment engineering business delivering technically advanced solutions into infrastructure and utilities environments across the UK. They are seeking an experienced Technical Sales Engineer to support and grow projects across Scotland. The role can be based out of either Edinburgh or Wishaw and operates in a field based, technically led capacity requiring autonomy and strong engineering credibility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the full sales cycle from prospecting through to order, delivery, and handover.
  • Build and develop long term customer relationships across the Scottish region.
  • Scope, size, and define wastewater treatment solutions with support from internal engineering teams.
  • Act as the technical point of contact for clients, providing clear and practical advice.
  • Work closely with design, technical, and operations teams to deliver fit for purpose solutions.
  • Identify new opportunities through market awareness and proactive customer engagement.
  • Maintain strong technical, commercial, and professional standards across all activities.

Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience in technical sales within wastewater, water, utilities, construction, or a related engineering sector.
  • Strong technical background, ideally with previous field engineering or hands on operational experience.
  • Ability to work independently across a wide geographic area with minimal supervision.
  • Confidence scoping and selling engineered solutions rather than transactional products.
  • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of the full sales lifecycle.
  • Clear and confident communicator, comfortable engaging both technical and non technical stakeholders.
  • Competent using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Full UK driving licence with no more than six points.
