Tasks and Qualifications:
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the solution meets the technical requirements of a material-handling project and is carried out within cost and time scale constraints.
- To interpret design input information (including mechanical design and data lists) to produce control system designs.
- Production of all associated documentation including, but not limited to, design calculations, design specifications, operation and maintenance manuals, and test specifications.
- Design and production of electrical layouts and schematic drawings using appropriate CAD tools.
- Procurement of electrical equipment including control panels and field devices.
- Liaising with suppliers on technical matters.
- Travel to customer sites to support the commercial team with new enquiries and conduct site surveys as part of the design process.
General Responsibilities:
- To liaise with systems sales and project engineers during project phase.
- To liaise with installation supervisors, sub-contractors and customer during order execution phase.
- To liaise with production planning and purchase departments.
- To liaise with and provide technical information to any department so entitled, i.e. controls, mechanical, projects, service, spares.
- To comply with the company policy as defined in the Staff Handbook, Safety Manual, and Quality Assurance Manual.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Essential: HNC/HND or equivalent in Electrical Engineering
- Desirable: Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline
- Essential: To be conversant with AutoCAD, E-Plan, Word, Excel, Outlook.
- Desirable: Previous experience in materials handling industry
- Essential: At least 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role
- Desirable: Good understanding of distributed control systems
There may be a need to support activities across the EMEA region. This may necessitate some occasional travel outside of the ‘home country’ across the EMEA region.
