About Us

Swayne and Partners has been part of the Haverhill community for over 30 years. We offer a friendly, welcoming service backed by evidence-based medicine and surgery. You would be joining a friendly, supportive team that enjoys what we do and aims to deliver a top-quality service for both our patients and our clients. This doesn’t mean railroading through gold‑standard treatment for every case – we are firm believers in contextualised care and aim to guide our clients through the available options to find what’s right for them and their pet.

Facilities

  • Four consultation rooms
  • Two theatres
  • In‑house lab
  • Brand new ultrasound machine
  • Off‑site CT scanner

We run our own out‑of‑hour service from our practice in Bury St Edmunds, as well as providing cover for several other local clinics. This role involves some daytime weekend work, with time off afterwards. No overnight work is required.

Swayne & Partners is part of the Kin Veterinary Community, a group of vet‑led practices in the south of England. We provide compassionate, high‑quality care for pets and their owners, with a strong focus on collaborative support for our clinicians.

About You

You will have at least 1-2 years’ experience in small animal practice, and will be confident with routine consults, basic medical work‑up and straightforward soft tissue surgery. Support will be in place to allow you to advance your skills in all these areas and to help you develop any particular areas of interest. More experienced candidates looking for a change are also very welcome to apply – the role can be adjusted to suit.

Alongside a good salary and benefit package, we aim to make our staff’s roles fit around their lives. We are happy to look at part‑time and flexible options, and if you’re looking for something more unusual, we are open to proposals. We know this profession isn’t always easy, but if you want to work to help our community’s pets stay happy and healthy, then we want to find a way for you to do just that.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary based on experience.

  • External CPD funded
