About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join our friendly and supportive team at Pet Care Veterinary Surgery. This hands-on role is ideal for an organised, compassionate nurse who takes pride in delivering exceptional clinical standards and outstanding client care. As an RVN, you will work closely with our vets, nurses, and support team to ensure gold‑standard patient care across consultations, theatre, inpatient care and client communication.
Key Responsibilities
- Nursing Duties
- Provide excellent inpatient care, including monitoring, administering medications, fluid therapy, and maintaining accurate clinical records
- Assist vets and the nursing team during procedures, supporting anaesthesia, surgical prep, and post‑operative care
- Carry out nurse‑led clinics such as post‑op checks, nail clips, weight clinics, and preventative healthcare advice
- Perform and interpret basic in‑house laboratory tests
- Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and effective infection‑control protocols in all clinical areas
- Support theatre workflow, including instrument prep, sterility, and equipment maintenance
- Provide compassionate end‑of‑life support and guidance for clients where required
- Clinical & Team Support
- Safely handle and restrain animals for examinations, treatments, and diagnostic procedures
- Help maintain stock levels, equipment checks, and general clinical organisation
- Contribute to a positive, collaborative team environment and support junior colleagues where required
- Client Care & Reception Duties
- Offer clear communication and empathetic support to clients
- Assist with reception tasks including appointment bookings, handling enquiries and taking payments when needed
- Promote preventative healthcare and provide client education in a friendly, approachable manner
