An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and compassionate Registered Veterinary Nurse to join the nursing team at Swayne & Partners. We are a busy 24/7 veterinary practice with our own dedicated in-house night team, providing continuous care for our patients around the clock. In addition to our first opinion caseload, we support several local practices with their out-of-hours emergency care, offering exposure to a wide variety of ECC and inpatient cases. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an RVN looking to expand their knowledge and clinical experience within a fast‑paced hospital environment.
Our practice benefits from advanced facilities including an on‑site CT scanner, and we also accept referral orthopaedic surgeries, allowing nurses to be involved in more advanced diagnostic and surgical procedures. You will have the opportunity to utilise your nursing skills fully across all areas of the practice including inpatient care, theatre, anaesthesia, consultations, diagnostics, and client support.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver high standards of patient and inpatient care
- Monitor anaesthesia and support surgical procedures
- Provide nursing support for ECC and hospitalised patients
- Run nurse consultations and clinics
- Support diagnostics including imaging, CT, and laboratory work
- Maintain accurate clinical records
- Provide excellent client communication and support
- Assist with inpatient treatments and medication administration
- Work collaboratively with vets, nurses, VCAs, and reception teams
- Contribute to maintaining high clinical and hygiene standards throughout the practice
- Is a qualified and registered RVN with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons
- Has excellent communication and organisational skills
- Works well independently and as part of a team
- Is proactive, adaptable, and compassionate
- Demonstrates a strong commitment to patient care and clinical excellence
- Enjoys working within a busy hospital and ECC environment
- Has an interest in developing advanced nursing skills
- Previous referral, hospital, or ECC experience is desirable but not essential
