Veterinary Surgeon - Knaphill Vets - Woking

We are looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our team at Knaphill Vets.

As one of Surrey's newest and fastest-growing veterinary practices, we're proud of the supportive and ambitious team we've built.

As part of the Kin Vet Community, we combine the warmth and autonomy of an independent practice with the support of a wider network, allowing us to focus on exceptional patient care, strong client relationships and creating a workplace where people genuinely enjoy coming to work.

Due to the continued growth of our practice and changes within our clinical team, we're looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join us.

We're not looking for someone to simply fill a rota; we're looking for someone who wants to become part of our team.

Someone who enjoys practising high-quality veterinary medicine, communicates brilliantly with clients and colleagues, and brings positivity, enthusiasm and great energy to the practice.

A Practice That Supports Great Veterinary Medicine

This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident GP vet who enjoys a varied caseload and wants the time and support to work cases thoroughly.

Our team manages a wide range of first opinion cases, including routine consultations, surgery, diagnostics and complex medical work-ups.

We regularly perform advanced soft tissue procedures, including liver lobectomies and splenectomies, supported by excellent facilities including:

  • CT scanner used routinely in practice.
  • High-quality ultrasound.
  • Excellent surgical facilities.

You’ll be joining a supportive team of three Veterinary Surgeons who enjoy collaborating, sharing knowledge and providing outstanding care for their patients.

A Role Designed Around the Right Person

We understand that flexibility matters, so we're happy to have an open conversation about what works best for both you and the practice.

The role is based around a 4-day working week (8:30am–6:30pm) with participation in a 1 in 3 Saturday morning rota (8:30am–12:30pm).

You’ll also benefit from protected time throughout the day, including

  • A 40-minute administration break each morning.
  • A 40-minute administration break each afternoon.

We believe exceptional Veterinary Surgeons deserve to be rewarded accordingly.

The salary starts from £65,000, with flexibility depending on your experience, clinical interests and any additional qualifications or certificates.

More Than Just Colleagues

Our team culture is something we’re incredibly proud of.

We’re a close-knit group who enjoy spending time together both inside and outside of work, whether that’s paddleboarding, sporting events, meals out or simply catching up socially.

We’re looking for someone who wants to be part of that culture — someone who enjoys supporting colleagues, sharing ideas and contributing positively to the team.

About You, You’ll be

  • An MRCVS Veterinary Surgeon with experience in first opinion practice.
  • Confident managing a varied medical and surgical caseload.
  • A strong communicator who enjoys building trusted client relationships.
  • Positive, approachable and enthusiastic.
  • A collaborative team player who wants to be part of a supportive practice.

What We Offer

  • Salary from £65,000 DOE, with flexibility for the right candidate.
  • 4-day working week.
  • Protected lunch and administration time.
  • Varied first opinion caseload with opportunities to develop.
  • Access to CT, ultrasound and modern diagnostic equipment.
  • CPD support and encouragement to pursue clinical interests.
  • Holiday allowance.
  • A genuinely friendly, social and supportive team environment.

Located in Woking, Knaphill offers the best of both worlds — a welcoming suburban community with beautiful countryside, woodland walks and excellent outdoor spaces nearby, while still being within easy reach of London.
