The Role:

This is a full-time Core Hours position, ideal for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon who enjoys both consulting and medicine within a busy hospital setting. You’ll manage a varied caseload, work closely with an experienced multidisciplinary team, and provide outstanding care from initial consultation through to treatment and discharge. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing consultations independently.
  • Working up medical cases and developing treatment plans.
  • Performing routine surgical procedures.
  • Assessing and managing medical and surgical patients from admission to discharge.
  • Managing inpatient care to a high clinical standard.
  • Prescribing safely and appropriately.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues across all clinical disciplines to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

About You:

We're looking for an experienced Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon who is confident making clinical decisions and enjoys working within a fast-paced hospital environment. You’ll ideally have:

  • Experience in small animal practice within a hospital or busy first-opinion environment.
  • Strong medical and consulting skills.
  • Confidence working up cases independently.
  • Experience performing routine surgery.
  • Excellent communication and client care skills.
  • A collaborative approach and passion for delivering outstanding patient care.
  • A commitment to continued learning and professional development.

Working Pattern

  • Non-Core Hours (Nights)
  • Full-time position
  • Three night shifts per week 7:00pm - 8:00am
  • Rota pattern of 7 nights on, followed by 4 nights off
