Job Purpose: Our client, a global leader in the Oil & Gas sector, is seeking a Technical Safety Engineer to join their team in Aberdeen. As a Senior Consultant reporting to the Team Lead, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality technical safety solutions, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing risk-based decision support. Your work will support operators and contractors by offering expertise in a variety of technical safety disciplines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering high-quality technical safety projects across a range of scopes including safety case updates, thorough reviews, ALARP justifications, HAZID/HAZOP, EERA, QRA, and consequence modelling.
- Collaborating with customers and colleagues across the business to address technical problems and develop effective solutions.
- Balancing competing demands of delivering high-quality work with optimizing chargeable time.
- Providing opportunities for personal development through exposure to diverse projects and tasks.
- Engaging with clients and providing technical expertise for decision-making and risk assessments.
- Contributing to the delivery of consequence and risk assessments, reliability assessments, risk-based inspections (RBI), and regulatory justifications.
Development and Support:
- Ongoing development support is provided to enhance your technical knowledge, project management, and sales skills.
- On-the-job training and mentorship will be available to further your career and expertise in technical safety engineering.
Requirements:
- Experience: Proven experience in technical safety engineering within the Oil & Gas industry.
- Skills: Strong technical knowledge of safety case updates, HAZID/HAZOP, ALARP justifications, QRA, EERA, and consequence modelling.
- Education: Relevant engineering or safety qualification (e.g., Engineering degree, safety certification).
- Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders effectively.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to tackle technical challenges and develop robust solutions.
- Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams, balancing project delivery and personal development goals.
