I am currently looking to speak with an operational candidate who will take up the position of Site Supervisor for our client based in Preston.

Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 + Bonus + Pension – Position will require travelling and staying away from home.

Candidate Industry Background: Construction / Mining / Nuclear / Rail / Refinery / Chemical.

Company Background: Client is a leading COMAH infrastructure business and operator of several critical UK energy sites, currently working on a number of new projects such as CCS, Hydrogen, and alternative energy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Experience in site establishment from start to completion of projects.
  • Oversee and coordinate daily site activities, covering mechanical, civil, and electrical operations.
  • Manage work schedules, tracking and reporting on planned versus actual progress.
  • Review and authorize subcontractor RAMS, Scope of Works, and Lift Plans, identifying risks and opportunities before work begins on-site.
  • Issue site-specific permits, including Permits to Work, Hot Works, and Working at Height permits.
  • Conduct daily task briefings and Point of Work assessments with site personnel.
  • Coordinate the implementation of Dynamic Risk Assessments as required.

Minimum Requirements:

  • HNC/HND qualification in a technical or engineering field.
  • Holds a formal Site Management qualification (e.g., CSCS Black card).
  • SMSTS certified (Site Management Safety Training Scheme).
  • EMSS Safety Passport holder.
  • Knowledge of COSHH regulations.
  • Skilled in preparing essential site documentation like Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and Lift Plans.
  • Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Strong decision-making ability, effective under high-pressure situations.
  • Capable of motivating and supporting teams.
  • Skilled at conflict resolution.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities with a focus on efficiency.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experienced in coordinating cross-functional work.
  • Proficient in MS Office and related software.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
