Guide design in compliance with relevant technical, professional and water company standards.
Ensure project change for design packages is fully implemented and recorded.
Ensure work is undertaken using formal processes and procedures.
Estimate hours required for design packages.
Attend and present designs at ALM, KM meetings and similar.
Review, interpret and brief standards, procedures and changes to them.
Undertake the role of Professional Head for discipline and Responsible Engineer/CRE for specific projects.
Provide key technical guidance for projects and tenders and ensure continuous improvement of technical standards.
Requirements:
- 10 years' structural design experience at senior or principal engineering level.
- Significant structural design experience within one or more of the following regulated industries: Rail, Water, Oil and gas, Nuclear, Highways, Bridges.
- Graduate or HND.
- Good level IT.
- Chartered engineer.
- Experience in regulated water and/or rail industries.
- Awareness of construction methods and materials.
- Knowledge of Engineering Drawing Practices.
- Driving licence & access to vehicle.
- Strong technical knowledge.
- Developer of self and others.
- Problem solving.
