Role Overview
We are seeking a hands-on Shift Technician to support the safe and reliable operation of a critical facility environment. The role will involve planned and reactive maintenance across electrical and mechanical systems, site inspections, contractor supervision, and monitoring of building management systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine and corrective maintenance on electrical and mechanical systems.
- Support the operation and upkeep of low-voltage and medium-voltage electrical infrastructure.
- Perform regular site checks to ensure equipment and systems are operating correctly.
- Assist with fault finding, troubleshooting, and first-line technical response.
- Escort and supervise subcontractors working on-site.
- Monitor facility systems through the BMS and escalate issues where required.
- Ensure work is completed in line with site safety procedures, maintenance standards, and operational requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance activity, and technical interventions.
Required Experience
- Minimum 2 years' experience in facilities maintenance, electrical maintenance, or a similar technical environment.
- Good working knowledge of low-voltage and medium-voltage electrical systems.
- Experience carrying out planned and reactive maintenance on-site.
- Previous exposure to data centres, critical environments, industrial facilities, or similar high-availability sites would be highly advantageous.
- Knowledge of HVAC systems would be beneficial.
Skills and Attributes
- Strong practical maintenance and troubleshooting ability.
- Good attention to detail and a professional approach to site work.
- Able to work collaboratively with internal teams and external contractors.
- Confident using Microsoft Office tools, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- English language skills would be an advantage.
- Driving licence and access to a vehicle preferred.
Education
A technical diploma or relevant qualification is preferred, although equivalent hands-on experience will also be considered.
