Job Title: Senior Instrumentation & Automation Engineer
Overview
Our client is seeking a Senior Instrumentation & Automation Engineer to join their UK engineering team. The role supports the debottlenecking of an onshore brownfield gas facility, with a fast-paced delivery schedule.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to lead engineers and deliver project documentation.
- Develop instrumentation & automation philosophies, specifications, and datasheets.
- Produce ICSS architecture, cable routings, instrument layouts, and CCR/IER layouts (with designer input).
- Prepare key deliverables including instrument lists, I/O lists, cable schedules, and material take-offs.
- Participate in HAZOP, SIL, and other technical reviews (e.g., plot plan, 3D model, F&G mapping).
- Contribute to discipline and inter-discipline documents, such as Cause & Effect charts and P&ID mechanisation.
- Support occasional site surveys or short trips abroad if required.
Requirements
- Extensive experience working on FEED projects.
- Degree in Instrumentation or Electronic Engineering (or equivalent).
- Strong technical knowledge across instrumentation, controls, and automation systems.
- Familiarity with client-specific standards and tools is highly desirable.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary environment under tight schedules.
