Purpose of the Role

The Production Reporting Engineer is responsible for the consolidation, validation, analysis, and reporting of daily production data across multiple oil and gas fields and assets. The role supports operational and management decision-making by ensuring accurate and timely production reporting, performing variance analysis against budget and forecast, and contributing to planning and forecasting cycles. The position also administers and maintains the company production reporting systems and databases, ensuring data integrity, consistency, and compliance with corporate and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Production Reporting and Data Consolidation
    • Consolidate daily, weekly, and monthly production reports from multiple oil and gas fields, facilities, and operating assets.
    • Validate production data received from field operations, production engineers, and metering systems.
    • Monitor and reconcile oil, gas, water, and condensate production figures.
    • Ensure timely issuance of production performance reports to management and stakeholders.
    • Coordinate with operations, reservoir, production, and finance teams to resolve data discrepancies.
  • Performance Monitoring and Variance Analysis
    • Perform variance analysis between actual production, budget, and forecast figures.
    • Identify deviations, production shortfalls, and operational performance trends.
    • Prepare management presentations and dashboards highlighting KPIs and operational performance.
    • Support root-cause analysis related to production underperformance or unexpected operational results.
    • Provide analytical support for optimization initiatives and production improvement actions.
  • Planning, Budget and Forecast Support
    • Participate in annual budget preparation and periodic forecast cycles.
    • Support the development of short-, medium-, and long-term production forecasts.
    • Collaborate with subsurface, operations, and finance teams to align production assumptions.
    • Track forecast accuracy and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Production Systems Administration
    • Administer and maintain the company production reporting and data management systems.
    • Ensure integrity, consistency, and traceability of production databases.
    • Coordinate system updates, enhancements, and troubleshooting activities with IT and software vendors.
    • Develop and maintain automated reporting tools, templates, and dashboards.
    • Support digitalization initiatives and continuous improvement of reporting workflows.
  • Compliance and Governance
    • Ensure production reporting complies with corporate standards, joint venture requirements, and regulatory obligations.
    • Maintain proper documentation and audit trails for reported production data.
    • Support internal and external audits related to production reporting activities.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Education
    • Bachelor degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Energy Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Experience
    • Up to 5 years of experience in production reporting, production engineering, planning, or operations support within the oil and gas industry.
    • Experience working with multiple upstream assets and production data environments.
    • Familiarity with budgeting and forecasting processes in upstream operations.
  • Technical Skills
    • Strong understanding of oil and gas production operations and reporting methodologies.
    • Experience with production data management systems.
    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
    • Knowledge of SQL, databases, or data analytics tools is an advantage.
  • Soft Skills
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
    • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
    • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
