Key Responsibilities
- Overseeing design outputs to ensure safety, quality, and compliance
- Reviewing and approving technical deliverables, reports, and specifications
- Developing efficient design solutions based on scope and site inputs
- Providing technical leadership to engineers, technicians, and graduates
- Ensuring designs align with industry standards and client requirements
- Managing and recording design changes across project lifecycles
- Supporting planning and estimating of design activities
- Attending and contributing to technical review meetings and workshops
- Interpreting and implementing engineering standards and updates
- Acting as a technical authority across projects and supporting tenders
Requirements
- Strong background in design engineering within the UK water sector
- Experience across clean water and wastewater projects
- Experience delivering both outline and detailed design
- Understanding of infrastructure and non-infrastructure schemes
- Experience with hydraulic calculations and system profiling
- Chartered Engineer (or working towards)
- Strong technical, leadership, and problem-solving capability
- Experience mentoring and developing junior engineers
- Degree, HND, or equivalent experience
- Full UK driving licence
