The Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for establishing, implementing, and maintaining the Quality Management System (QMS) across EPC oil & gas projects. The role ensures compliance with client specifications, international standards, regulatory requirements, and company quality policies across engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain project-specific Quality Assurance plans and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, client standards, and oil & gas industry codes (API, ASME, ASTM, IEC, etc.).
- Review project specifications, drawings, and contracts to identify quality requirements.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure quality requirements are embedded in deliverables.
- Lead internal and external quality audits across project phases.
- Establish and monitor quality KPIs and performance metrics.
- Manage document control systems and ensure proper quality documentation.
- Review and approve Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements, and quality procedures.
- Oversee vendor and subcontractor quality assurance processes.
- Participate in vendor qualification and pre-award audits.
- Ensure proper implementation of non-conformance reporting (NCR) and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
- Conduct root cause analysis for quality issues and track closure actions.
- Support client and third-party inspections and audits.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across projects.
- Provide QA training and awareness sessions to project teams.
Quality & Compliance Duties
- Ensure adherence to ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
- Project contract requirements.
- Regulatory and statutory requirements.
- Company QA/QC procedures.
- Monitor quality risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Ensure traceability and records retention for all critical project materials and processes.
Required Qualifications
- Certified ISO 9001 Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor (preferred).
Experience Requirements
- 3 - 8 years of experience in Quality Assurance within Oil & Gas EPC projects.
- Experience in upstream, midstream, or downstream projects preferred.
- Proven experience in large-scale EPC project environments.
- Experience with vendor quality surveillance and audits.
