Contract Type: Fixed-term 15th June 2026 – 31st March 2028, possibility of extension.

Work Schedule: Mon – Fri.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Co‑ordination of LV/MV/HV operations
  • Advise operationally on high voltage electrical installations to wind turbine generators, offshore substations, and both HV submarine and onshore cables
  • Oversee all MV/HV/LV electrical operational activities to ensure safety, security, and integrity of the HV network
  • Plan all switching activities on sites, both offshore and onshore
  • Monitor and report in the SCADA system
  • Manage and control a complete log of all activities on site, including all switching activities
  • Control the safety documents for the Electrical Safety Rules on site
  • Control and manage all HV and LV electrical operations on site
  • Define safety procedures for electrical matters
  • Oversee safe commissioning of grid connections, onshore substations, and associated MV/HV/LV plant and equipment
  • Ensure adherence to Code Compliance in the relevant country
  • Conduct QA on different ISO requirements in the project
  • Review the high voltage scope of work
  • Develop reference documentation and processes
  • Apply and maintain knowledge and experience with country-specific standards
  • Demonstrate knowledge of 50Hz and 60Hz standards for the electrical equipment
  • Ensure compliance with and management of Electrical Safety Rules
  • Coordinate with the Lead Commissioning Project Manager to ensure accurate updates are distributed to Project Management
  • Coordinate MV/HV/LV commissioning activities throughout the project construction stages
  • Manage and coordinate HV/MV/LV commissioning activities
  • Liaise with National Grid and attend commissioning panel meetings
  • Prepare and check high voltage switching schedules
  • Check method statements for electrical matters
  • Implement and provide training programs for relevant staff according to rules
  • Provide technical and engineering advice to working parties for electrical matters
  • Participate in safety coordination around electrical operations
  • Manage outages and control the network
  • Participate in On Calls and Out Calls regarding all activities on the electrical equipment on site
  • Plan and take responsibility for outages on site, both offshore and onshore activities
  • Support commissioning and start‑up activities for any components and systems
  • Manage all electrical operations on site via the Control Log
  • Control all high voltage switching activities both offshore and onshore
  • Monitor and accept all LV switching activities on site
  • Take charge of all switching programs
  • Plan outages of the windfarm together with the Project Commissioning Team
  • Provide safety from the systems and maintain a complete overview of all electrical operations on site
  • Control resources and work activities
  • Perform communication of complex technical and commercial issues
  • Implement the Electrical Safety Rules on site, including the safe system of work
  • Lead MV/HV switching and isolations
  • Ensure consent of Electrical Safety Rules documents

Requirements:

  • Several years of operation and commissioning experience within high voltage electricity; offshore experience preferable
  • Appropriate electrical qualification and background related to the authorization scope
  • Minimum 3 years of working experience within onshore substation systems
