Mechanical Engineering Technician – Expanding Maintenance Team

Following a successful hire, this is an exciting opportunity to become the third new addition to a busy maintenance team at a site undergoing significant investment to meet increasing production demands.

Key Responsibilities:
- Support the SHE department to uphold the highest standards of Safety, Health, and Environmental performance in all maintenance activities.
- Assist in recovering from unplanned stoppages and contribute to first-line troubleshooting and problem-solving.
- Work collaboratively across departments to enhance plant reliability and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) through FMEA, RCM studies, and optimising PM/PdM programs to improve Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) and Mean Time to Repair (MTTR).
- Support the MRO Stores Controller in optimising inventory to meet reliability and plant performance needs.
- Work closely with engineering teams to manage contractor-led maintenance and capital project activities during plant outages.
- Maintain detailed equipment records using the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
What We’re Looking For:
- Hands-on experience working with pumps, compressors, pipelines, boilers, vessels, and heat exchangers.
- Knowledge of alignment techniques, ultrasonics, vibration analysis, and thermography.
- Understanding of pressure systems, confined space regulations, risk assessments, and permit-to-work processes (hot work, etc.).
- Strong reporting skills and the ability to assess, improve, and implement maintenance workflow practices.
