Mechanical Engineer ( Energy Solutions / Decarbonization ) Permanent Remote Operator

We’re currently recruiting for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to be based at home and to join us on this rapid growth and expansion journey.
In this role, you will be leading the detailed design phase for sustainable energy projects, managing design budgets across multiple projects and using tools like Autodesk CAD Revit/Plant 3D, Hevacomp, Bluebeam, PVSyst, Amtech or Dialux or IES for modelling.
- Creating and evaluating sustainable, energy-efficient mechanical/electrical design solutions (including drawings and calculations), ensuring seamless technical and non-technical communication across teams. Prepare technical performance specifications and schedules, engaging with colleagues across disciplines to ensure seamless integration of mechanical/electrical systems with other building components.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with mechanical & electrical systems design, such as potential failures, safety hazards, or non-compliance with regulations
- Initiate/ prepare tender process and support the evaluation of tenders – provide technical support in client and supplier contract negotiations.
Responsibilities
- Strong knowledge of engineering principles, energy efficiency, and carbon reduction strategies within building services or across industrial sectors.
- Familiarity with adhering to commercial governance and procedures to ensure compliance.
- Experience of CDM Regulations, auditing, Design Risk assessment, HAZOP Studies, Risk Assessments, DSEAR assessments, DESOPs, etc
- In-depth knowledge of commercial on-site generation technologies such as industrial/ commercial heat pumps, gas engines, steam boilers, absorption/electric chillers, Solar PV and Battery preferable.
