Role Overview: We are recruiting a Mechanical Design Engineer to support multiple offshore oil and gas developments for a major international energy operator. Following the award of several large-scale projects, the engineering team is expanding to strengthen detailed design and vendor coordination capability.

This role offers the opportunity to work on complex FPSO and marine-related scopes within a technically driven, multi-disciplinary project environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare mechanical technical specifications, inspection and test requirements, and requests for quotation
  • Perform technical evaluation of vendor quotations, including technical and commercial bid comparisons
  • Participate in and support technical clarification meetings and negotiations with equipment suppliers
  • Review vendor documentation and consolidate comments from other engineering disciplines
  • Review and verify detailed design and engineering deliverables related to mechanical equipment and packages
  • Support the finalisation and close-out of vendor documentation for project handover

Requirements:

  • Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
  • Between 3 and 10 years of experience within the oil and gas industry
  • Proven experience on FPSO and marine or offshore projects
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design, equipment packages, and vendor documentation
  • Experience working within multi-disciplinary engineering teams
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English

Work Eligibility:

Candidates must have the right to work in the United Kingdom. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
