The Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for establishing, implementing, and maintaining the Quality Management System (QMS) across EPC oil & gas projects. The role ensures compliance with client specifications, international standards, regulatory requirements, and company quality policies across engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain project-specific Quality Assurance plans and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, client standards, and oil & gas industry codes (API, ASME, ASTM, IEC, etc.).
  • Review project specifications, drawings, and contracts to identify quality requirements.
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure quality requirements are embedded in deliverables.
  • Lead internal and external quality audits across project phases.
  • Establish and monitor quality KPIs and performance metrics.
  • Manage document control systems and ensure proper quality documentation.
  • Review and approve Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements, and quality procedures.
  • Oversee vendor and subcontractor quality assurance processes.
  • Participate in vendor qualification and pre-award audits.
  • Ensure proper implementation of non-conformance reporting (NCR) and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Conduct root cause analysis for quality issues and track closure actions.
  • Support client and third-party inspections and audits.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across projects.
  • Provide QA training and awareness sessions to project teams.

Quality & Compliance Duties

  • Ensure adherence to ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
  • Project contract requirements.
  • Regulatory and statutory requirements.
  • Company QA/QC procedures.
  • Monitor quality risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure traceability and records retention for all critical project materials and processes.

Required Qualifications

  • Certified ISO 9001 Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor (preferred).

Experience Requirements

  • 3 - 8 years of experience in Quality Assurance within Oil & Gas EPC projects.
  • Experience in upstream, midstream, or downstream projects preferred.
  • Proven experience in large-scale EPC project environments.
  • Experience with vendor quality surveillance and audits.
