About the Role
An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to join a growing engineering consultancy supporting major infrastructure and civil engineering projects across the UK. This role will suit someone who enjoys a mix of technical delivery, slope engineering, project management, and mentoring responsibilities, whilst working across varied and technically challenging ground engineering projects. The position offers involvement across feasibility, detailed design, construction support, and long-term asset stability assessments.

Key Responsibilities
- Leading geotechnical and slope stability assessments across infrastructure projects
- Delivering technical studies, calculations, and engineering reports
- Reviewing and interpreting ground investigation data and factual reports
- Managing ground investigation scopes, contractors, and site activities
- Supporting earthworks, embankment, retaining wall, and foundation design activities
- Carrying out slope stability assessments and remediation recommendations
- Supporting landslip, embankment, and ground movement investigations
- Providing technical advice during design development and construction phases
- Mentoring and supporting junior geotechnical engineers
- Supporting project planning, scheduling, commercial activities, and client liaison
- Working closely with multidisciplinary engineering and construction teams
Requirements
- Strong geotechnical engineering experience within infrastructure, rail, highways, utilities, or civil engineering sectors
- Experience delivering slope engineering or slope stability projects
- Knowledge of earthworks, retaining structures, embankments, and ground risk management
- Understanding of ground investigations, geotechnical reporting, and foundation solutions
- Experience managing technical studies and project delivery
- Ability to review geotechnical data and provide practical engineering recommendations
- Strong communication and technical reporting skills
- Experience mentoring or supporting junior engineers preferred
- Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership advantageous
