The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 ÂŁ per year.

The consultant will support projects at various phases by conducting studies. Scope includes:

  • Create and validate EMT and RMS models for relevant assets (e.g., WTG, PPC, STATCOM, as applicable).
  • Plan and execute design and Grid Code compliance studies, small disturbances and fault scenarios.
  • Draft clear, audit‐ready technical documentation for internal review and external compliance; contribute to grid‐connection workstreams.
  • Interface with OEMs on model provisioning, validation and parameterization.
  • Summarise findings, recommend mitigations, and ensure quality in line with company standards across multiple projects.

Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical/Power Systems Engineering (BEng/MSc/PhD) or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years' hands‐on experience with PSCAD for EMT studies, including applicable add‐ons and analysis modules, plus required experience with DIgSILENT PowerFactory covering steady‐state and RMS analyses.
  • Experience working with vendor models and parameterization for compliance.
  • Scripting/automation skills for workflows and post‐processing.
  • Experience coordinating with OEMs for model delivery, validation, and updates.
  • Strong data confidentiality practices.
  • Strong communication skills; able to produce clear reports and stakeholder materials.
  • Ability to work independently while following company's established methodologies, documentation standards, and QA processes.

Nice to Have (Optional)

  • Experience with National Grid ESO EMT guidelines and evidence requirements.
  • Experience with grid‐forming controls or advanced STATCOM functionalities.
