Work Schedule: 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off – 12 hours per day on rotation.

Marine and helicopter coordination is a key support function within the offshore operations and logistics department of construction, enabling safe operations offshore, safe transit, access to the offshore wind farm, assets within the offshore wind farm, and emergency response during the construction of an offshore wind farm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Emergency response coordination, acting as the front‑line person responsible for coordinating the response as well as liaising with relevant parties such as project staff and/or external agencies
  • Vessel and helicopter traffic control as per agreed coordination protocols, procedures and processes
  • People, vessel and communications tracking
  • Manage wind turbine generator access restrictions
  • Ensure that all vessel allocations and unforeseen changes to the daily plan and schedule optimise the efficient use of the vessels available
  • Operate the offshore management system ensuring all offshore personnel have the correct certification and all assets are maintained to the latest status
  • Liaise with local stakeholders as required
  • Provide weather forecasting and observation system data and interpret this to provide advice and recommendations to the project and vessel masters
  • Manage the relationship on a day‑to‑day basis with weather data and observation system providers, ensuring that any problems with data or sources of data are resolved

Requirements

  • Local applicants preferred, within approximately 2 hours of Grimsby
  • Over 2 years of experience in marine coordination
  • Competent in the use of supplier databases for offshore operations
  • Competent with radio communications
  • Familiarity with maritime certification
  • Capable of working as part of a team, proactive, able to work under pressure and engage well with the wider organisation
  • Experienced in emergency response offshore
  • Personnel tracking experience, monitoring the whereabouts of people working on offshore asset projects at all times
  • Marine traffic control experience, managing access to the offshore wind farm according to custody, timing and work scope
  • Airspace coordination for safe flight operations to, on and from the offshore wind farm
  • Monitoring of weather and marine operations on the offshore wind farm
  • Emergency response planning
  • Surveillance and vessel avoidance
  • Liaison and advisory work across documentation, HSE, marine inspection and helicopter operators
  • Statutory reporting, including pollution, lighting, drifting buoys and vessel infringement
  • Availability to work 12 hours per day on either a 1 week on / 1 week off or 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off rotation
