A major engineering organisation is seeking a Principal Engineer with strong HV expertise to lead design delivery across transmission and distribution projects.
The Role
You’ll provide technical leadership from concept through to detailed design and construction support, working closely with clients, suppliers, and multi-discipline project teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead development of conceptual and detailed Protection & Control designs
- Interpret client specifications and produce technical documentation and BoQs
- Review and technically align supplier quotations
- Oversee design calculations, drawings, and secondary system designs
- Carry out design checks and manage design risk assessments
- Supervise engineers and external designers to ensure quality and timely delivery
- Support construction teams with substation automation and secondary systems expertise
- Interface with wider disciplines to ensure buildable, compliant designs
- Mentor and develop junior engineers
