Engineering Surveyor
Location: London & South East, Hertfordshire
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 + Bonus + Car Allowance
Key Responsibilities
- Work with project teams to define survey and geospatial needs
- Design survey solutions that balance safety, practicality and cost
- Produce scopes, technical proposals and fee estimates
- Price and quote for geospatial services
- Advise on survey methods, outputs and deliverables
- Support bids, tenders and pre-construction planning
- Coordinate with survey crews to ensure jobs are scoped correctly and delivered well
- Identify opportunities where new technology and smarter workflows can add value
- Help grow the geomatics offering by identifying new opportunities
- Stay up to date with survey standards, best practice and emerging technology
Requirements
- HND, Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geomatics, Surveying, Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- Background in surveying, geomatics or geospatial work
- Broad technical knowledge covering control and setting out, topo, laser scanning, UAV, monitoring, GIS, machine control, tunnelling, bathymetry and PAS128 utility mapping
- Experience producing or supporting scopes, estimates, quotes or technical proposals
- Confident communicator with commercial awareness and an appetite for business development
- Strong focus on HSQ and a sharp eye for detail
- MRICS, MCInstCES or equivalent, or working towards chartership
- Experience on major schemes across rail, water, energy, transport or heavy civils beneficial
- Familiarity with BIM and Digital Engineering workflows beneficial
- Full UK Driving Licence
